Kayla Weller is a minor character of the story story A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words. She was a nurse from Newport, Vermont and is the mother of Avariella Weller as well as the only daughter of Clara Weller.
Born in New York City, Kayla lived with her mother and attended local schools in the area. At some point, she entered a relationship with Casey Jones. Sometime towards the end of her junior year in high school, she learned that she was pregnant and dropped out of high school to have her baby.
After Ava was born, Kayla decided that she wanted to keep her. Wanting to be able to provide for her new daughter, Kayla got her GED and the went on to get her nursing degree from a nearby college while working a part-time job.
About four years later, she had graduated college and soon found a job in Newport, Vermont. Her and her daughter then moved up north and got a place to live. At her nursing job, she became close friends with Samantha Reynolds.
Before the story begins, Kayla passed away after being hit by a car on her way to the grocery store.
While never seen in the series, she has been talked about by her daughter and Casey Jones quite often. Avariella has said multiple times that her mother was loving and compassionate. She also said that she was someone that she could count on and always go to for advice, no matter the situation.
It has also been mentioned that she loves gardening.
